The focus of Sleipnir’s Wisdom LLC is to support/enhance equine vitality through an integrated approach using multiple therapies. Physically these include barefoot trimming, equine massage, craniosacral therapy and nutrition, while energetically they include Reiki and Animal Frequency Balancing. The nature of these therapies is set out below.
- Barefoot Trimming – Working with the simple tools of hoof pick, hoof knife, nippers and rasp, the goal is to help the horse develop the healthiest hoof possible by imitating Nature’s wisdom and the dynamics of the wild horse hoof, along with supporting the horse’s lifestyle through the correct diet, appropriate exercise, and a safe and supportive environment. The old adage – ‘No hoof, no horse’ is as apt today as it has been for countless centuries.
- Equine Massage – Working with the simple tools of touch and technique, the goal is to help the horse clear body tension, emotional blockages and ensure its 12 systems function optimally and together. With a mixture of effleurage, petrissage, tapotement (percussion) and friction, a massage is intended to help the horse relax and relearn how to trust in itself, which will optimize its intrinsic capacity for self-healing.
- Craniosacral Therapy – Working with the craniosacral rhythm, the breath of life, this approach offers a less physical way of listening to, and working with, the 12 systems of the horse’s body. It is especially helpful when needing to work off the body because of the sensitivity or difficult to reach position of a horse.
- Nutrition – Equine nutrition and healthy teeth are critical to the health of the horse. A traditional forage-based diet, along with plenty of movement and herd dynamics, are all required for a healthy lifestyle. Understanding the horse’s environment, we can devise a sustaining diet further enhanced through modern supplements and veterinary support for optimal health.
- Reiki – An ancient Japanese modality connecting with the Universal life energy to facilitate health and vitality. It is based on the intention to heal and the importance of the health of the energy chakras to the body. Using a pendulum and/or intuition, energy is directed to those parts of the body that require support thereby enhancing the vitality of the horse.
- Acupressure – A Traditional Chinese Medicine approach that focuses on enhancing the vitality, or Qi, of the horse through working with unique organ and meridian acupoints based on the 12 Yin and Yang meridians. Whether dealing with acute or chronic conditions, acupressure represents a unique modality to recognize the impact of internal and external pathogenic factors, and to help remove Qi blockages, stagnation or rebellion to maintain the health and vitality of the horse.
- Animal Frequency Balancing – A modality relying on the vibration, frequency and sound from a tuning fork to promote and support/enhance vitality through improving the quality of the horse’s biofield. It is a modality that can be applied on or off body depending on the needs of the horse. And it facilitates clearing past energetic traumas that support the start of the healing process through nervous system relaxation.
