Sleipnir’s Wisdom LLC is an integrated equine health business whose primary focus is to support/enhance equine vitality through the application of holistic healing modalities. As a hoof trimmer, I realized that many horses are unable to turn their nervous system off resulting in chronic or acute issues. Helping them reconnect with their parasympathetic nervous system, and its healing benefits, is critical to improving both their health and behavioural outcomes.
At Sleipnir’s Wisdom, named for Odin’s eight-legged horse – the best horse among gods and men – we bring an integrated approach to helping the horse from both a physical and energetic perspective. Physically through barefoot trimming, equine massage, craniosacral therapy and nutrition, and energetically through Reiki, acupressure and Animal Frequency Balancing.
For when a horse is helped to reduce the physical and energetic issues it carries, through the application of the therapies noted above, it is able to reconnect with the intrinsic vitality with which it is born. Which is to its benefit, the benefit of its owner, and ultimately to all our benefit.
“The indifference, callousness and contempt that so many people exhibit toward animals is evil first because it results in great suffering in animals, and second because it results in an incalculably great impoverishment of the human spirit.” – Albert Einstein
“We must fight against the spirit of unconscious cruelty with which we treat the animals. Animals suffer as much as we do. True humanity does not allow us to impose such sufferings on them. It is our duty to make the whole world recognize it. Until we extend our circle of compassion to all living things, humanity will not find peace.” – Albert Schweitzer
“Cruelty to animals is one of the most significant vices of a low and ignoble people. Wherever one notices them, they constitute a sign of ignorance and brutality which cannot be painted over even by all the evidence of wealth and luxury.” – Alexander Von Humboldt
“When I bestride him, I soar. I am a hawk: he trots the air; the earth sings when he touches it; the basest horn of his hoof is more musical than the pipe of Hermes.” – William Shakespeare

Equine Healing – The Importance of “Rewilding”
I recently finished reading a book regarding equine health – Insight to Equus by Tomas G. Teskey D.V.M. – which I found fascinating. And whose existence and insights I wanted to share. This book reinforced all that my trimming, massage and energy work lessons have taught me – that the more we allow domestic horses...
Working as a hoof trimmer teaches you far more than just what is at the distal end of a horse’s forelegs and hind legs. For the hooves, and their health and function, are more than just part of the support and mobility system for the horse. They are, in fact, a unique insight into many...
Working with rescued and traumatised horses, it is impossible to not feel the pain and confusion they feel about humanity. It is impossible to miss how damaged these sensitive souls have become trying to navigate the world created by humans – the world horses played a significant role in helping us craft. For, if it...
